Journey to New Traditions

6 February - 6 March 2025

Journey to New Traditions presents a curated selection of thirteen distinguished ceramic artists, united by a shared dedication to centuries-old practices. Yet, in this exhibition, the past is not merely preserved but is actively reinterpreted, creating a dynamic interplay between historical tradition and contemporary innovation.

Rooted in the long-established techniques of Korean ceramics, from the delicate elegance of buncheong and the refined purity of porcelain to the rich, earthy hues of celadon, each of these artists carries forward a legacy of centuries-old traditions. Their works, however, are anything but static; they breathe new life into the past by pushing the boundaries of form and function. Through moon jars, flattened bottles, tea sets, and exquisite bowls, each piece reflects a masterful command of technique, yet embodies a distinct contemporary silhouette— balancing heritage with personal, forward-thinking expression.
